Scattered Sites Housing

Kearney Housing Agency owns 54 Single Family homes in Kearney. These homes are designated for families with dependant children.
Unit size is based on the number of family members.
All families must pay for their own utilities; however, they are given a utility allowance. This allowance
results in a reduction in the monthly rent.

Residents in the Scattered Sites program are required to maintain their own homes in a safe and sanitary condition.
Inspections are made at least annually to guarantee that the tenant is upholding the terms of their lease and to assure
the unit is being properly maintained. Special inspections may be made if there is reason for concern regarding
housekeeping or other problems.

Scattered Sites Features:
All adult residents in public housing are required to perform eight (8) hours of community service per month.
This requirement is intended to be a rewarding activity that will assist residents in improving their own and
their neighbor's economic and social well being and give residents greater stakes in their community.
